In this first one episode of 2023, I'm speaking to Tommy Lundberg currently working as a Docent in Physiology and Assistant Senior Lecturer in the Division of Clinical Physiology at one of the world’s foremost medical universities, Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

Tommy's past and intended future long-term research is planned to be related to the control and regulation of skeletal muscle mass and function. More specifically, in contexts such as sports performance, disease, and aging, Tommy is interested in how human skeletal muscle responds and adapts to increased or decreased use. His general competence area is human physiology and sports science, with specific expertise in exercise physiology. Tommy has currently a teaching activity of 50% of his full-time. The teaching activities refer mainly to the Degree programs in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Biomedical Analytics at the Karolinska Institutet. He is also the course leader for a contract education course in Advanced Exercise Physiology and a teacher at the Ph.D. course "Writing Science and Information Literacy".
